C2CAT is granted by EU in a joint project focusing on the synthesis of green ammonia, to move from large centralised ammonia plants with high-energy consumption and CO2emissions to ammonia as a renewable fuel.
C2CAT will use leading-edge computational and synthesis techniques to design, develop and produce novel and hitherto non-tested catalysts which catalyse the renewable hydrogen and nitrogen reaction to form green ammonia.
We believe it is necessary to switch to small-scale decentralised ammonia production points where electricity is generated from renewable sources.
